We're still breathing!

It's been a few days of filming and going through reharsals and material. During these weeks of vacancies all around, we are postponing next filming session by two weeks!

Check back in and have a nice summer til July 25th!

An animation test!

Well, it's not the final render but, a little tease from our upcoming short presentation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWLiPktbSVQ Watch it in HD, comment, give us your feedback!

As we add in the reflective data and propper lighting, I am convinced (with you guys pointing us in the right direction) it will look even better!

Once again, all credits to DennisCM for the great work on the model.

Working hard

Planning is key to success, the shots are currently being reworked and refit to match our vision.

Some footage might be able to be edited for a preview this weekend.

Until then, stay tuned!

Texturing and Greenscreen

It's now Saturday, the model is nearing completion and we've just attempted to assemble a home-made greenscreen. We'll see how it works tomorrow when we head out.

Here is another image of the model, with a texture test applied courtesy of DennisCM.

We all love Andrew, obviously

A new day of work!

We all love Andrew Kramer's devotion and products, but another profile that is, I believe at least, a friend of Andrew, is Aharon Rabinowitz.

He does tutorials as well, and they differ from Andrews. Great compliment.

So, be sure to check him out at www.allbetsareoff.com.

Take care!

Another day comes to it's end.

So, another day has passed and when Dennis stopped modelling for the day, we reached a point where we can show off some more details from the ship.

Check it out!

The first looks on the Craftmodel!

Right, so we have been working with fellow Copiloter and Filmenthusiast Dennis (aka DennisCM). We started off roughly building a body and matching it to our scene.

From there, we started to play around with ideas. Me and my team had a vision about a compact Hercules C-130 (http://blog.mlive.com/chronicle/2007/09/Hercules.jpg for reference) that had been equipped with a Hunter Killer like engine. The form started to evolve and we got closer.

It's quite the process. Then, with all ideas put to use we now got an intersting building platform:

The final result will be done in no-time thanks to DennisCM's enthusiasm!

All credits to him for helping us out!

Soundsource!

I just wanted to give all aspiring filmmakers a tip!

Be sure to check out Freesound.org, you can find royalty free soundeffects there and it's a great resource when sounds often are hard to come by, if not recording oneself!

So, check that out, and enjoy the soundeffects.

3D Elements in the film

We've been in contact with an upcoming 3D-Designer we met through Videocopilot and now working out the details for an animated scene, featuring our craft flying.

Also, the respective people that own the locations where we are going to film have been informed and have approved.

Good week!

Storyboard

Yet another day of Storyboarding!

Preparations must be made. Thank god for Storyboard Quick, it has made our life much easier. If you, like us, struggling doing Storyboards, check it out.

Also, today, we're going to get the last few okays on our last warehouse scene. As it's located pretty central, it's not a good idea waving weapons about without premission.

Have to get back, thanks for your time!

Summary

I manged to get around to throw in a quick summary as well!

"An aircraft carrying prisoners crashes shortly after departure, killing most passengers. Cathrine, a young woman in her mid 20's, is among the survivors. She obtains a scrambled datapad that holds information about a systematic deportation order. Chased by two surviving guards, she heads for a local array to attempt to pass the information on."

I hope some interest arose! And don't forget to check the images from the set below.

Pre-Production

Welcome to the brand-spankin' new Freighter 221 blog. Here, you will be able to follow the progression of the project through out the process.

It's midst pre-production and it's looking good. The script is done and shooting is scheduled to begin in June. You will most likely get to see the synopsis go live on our blog later this week.

Today we went out to the filming location, to get an idea of how to plan our shots.

I thought I'd share a few of the images taken, enjoy!
